A NEW Audi Quattro - this is head-explodingly exciting

The Audi Quattro is one of those cars that transcends car culture.  Quattro is mainstream.  And it looks like there will be a new one coming our way.

Audi has released these images ahead of the Frankfurt motor show, where a Quattro concept will be displayed.  A production version will be launched in a limited run, and priced at well over £100,000.

The engine is likely to be the 4 litre twin turbo V8 found in the RS6, but tuned to over 600bhp.  Aside from that we don't know a lot else at the moment.

Keep an eye out for the in-the-metal Quattro concept in September.

Audi recently teased the TT Ultra quattro concept.  That would be a much cheaper quattro, but unfortunately it doesn't look like making production.
