Jaguar F-Type Project 7 sports car concept to make its debut at Goodwood FOS
We knew something was happening but not this. This being the new Jaguar Project 7 single seater sports car concept, which will be driven up the hill at Goodwood over the course of this weekend's Festival of Speed.
Project 7 is named for Jaguar's 7 victories at Le Mans, the last being the XJR-12 in 1990 which was driven by Martin Brundle.
The car is powered by Jaguar's 550bhp 5 litre supercharged V8 and will do 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds. Changes from a standard F-Type include the rear fairing, a new front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. The windscreen is lowered and the front bumper restyled. The wheels are 20 inch Blade alloys, which are the best looking F-Type wheels, and the tyres are one-offs with a white stripe and Jaguar logos.
The blue paint and general styling reflect those of the D-Type.
In the battle of the retro-inspired concept cars the Project 7 would seem to beat Aston Martin's CC100 hands down in terms of styling.
