The Silverstone Classic runs from 26 to 28 July and as ever it's packed with motoring and motorsport action. Hannah Burgess went along to the Silverstone Classic media day for Speedmonkey to check out what's in store.
Over the course of the weekend 26 races will run, featuring a staggering 1104 cars. The Grand Prix Masters for cars from 1966 to 1984 is one of six categories of single seater races whilst there will be three separate touring car grids, each featuring cars from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Other races include Transatlantic Touring Cars, the Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-1961 sportscars, the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-1956 sportscars and the Piper Heidsieck International Trophy For pre-1966 GT cars.
With several anniversaries being celebrated this year the Silverstone Classic will host parades of Jaguar-Types, Ferrari F40s, Porsche 911s, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Ford Cortinas and Corvettes.
Aside from the action on track you'll find a motor fair, Silverstone Auctions and lots of static displays from classic car clubs plus the AA is providing free breakdown cover for any car within 3 miles of Silverstone over the course of the weekend. Oh, and there's also the balloon rides, Red Devils display, Spitfire and Hurricane fly-pasts, rally experience and lots of shopping.
