The engine produces 431bhp which propels the VXR8 Tourer to 60mph in 4.9 seconds via it's 6 speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive.
This is no cart sprung muscle car. The VXR9 Tourer gets McPherson struts with progressive rate coils at the front and a multi-link independent set-up at the rear. Launch control helps it get away from the line.
The load space is massive, with 895 litres of cargo volume in the boot, and 2000 litres with the rear seats folded flat.
The price for all of this is £49,500 - and you get Vauxhall's Lifetime Warranty.
It's good to know Vauxhall is listening. In this article from November last year we suggested they could bring the bring back the Omega to the UK by importing the Holden Commodore - which has an estate version. This is basically what they've done with the VXR8 Tourer.
