Aston Martin is 100 in 2013. The company was founded in 1913 by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin - and was originally known as Bamford & Martin Ltd.
On 4 April 1914 Lionel Martin competed at the Aston Hill Climb in Buckinghamshire in a tuned Singer Car. Shortly afterwards a car was entered by Martin in the Aston Hill Climb - with the name of Aston Martin.
