Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster

Lamborghini have today released photos, specifications and prices for their new convertible, the Aventador Roadster.  One could never accuse Lamborghini of not having style.  Indeed the Modena company continues to define it's own unique attitude to how a car should look, sound and feel.

The Aventador Roadster truly is thing of beauty.  Beauty with creases and cuts rather than elegant flowing lines.  Individual, stark beauty not found on any other car but that works so well for their products.

Lamborghini have sold more than 1300 examples of the Aventador coupé and hope to increase that tally with the addition of the targa topped Roadster, and, like it's hard top sibling the Roadster, it's vital statistics are as eye watering as it's looks.

Price - £288,000 plus tax.  Engine - 6.5 litre, V12 with 700bhp.  0-62mph - 3 seconds dead.  Top speed - 217mph.  Four wheel drive courtesy of Haldex (so a certain BMW loving egomaniac will hate it).  Gearbox - 7 speed double clutch semi-auto.  Dry weight - 1625kg

These are the figures that belong to a true full-bodied supermodel amongst stick-thin waifs.  The Lamborghini Aventador Roadster knows it is the best ultra-expensive, ultra-impractical, super-fast, super-honed, super-refined, full-fat supercar on the planet.

And so do we.

Oh, and the driver can open a rear window which allows him or her to listen to the V12 orchestra directly from exhaust to eardrum.  Magnificent.
