Mazda promises the updated MX-5 will be every bit as good to drive as the previous version with manual versions featuring a modified throttle to improve responsiveness with more linear acceleration, especially when leaving corners. Mazda have also optimised the vacuum brake booster to improve brake return control and thus front-rear load distribution particularly when braking into bends.
2013 Mazda MX-5 |
A new model in the MX-5 line-up is the Sport Tech Nav model (bit of a mouthful, that) which features an integrated TomTom satnav with touch screen monitor, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.
Three new colours are available with some very silly names - Dolphin Grey Mica, Sparkling Black Mica and Crystal White Pearlescent.
The MX-5 comes with two engine choices - a 1.8i with a five speed manual gearbox and 126bhp or 2.0i with a six speed manual or semi-auto and 160bhp.
The new Mazda MX-5 is on sale from 1 December priced from £18,495 to £23,595 on the road and with 0% finance available.
