McLaren Automotive have issued details of their new car - the MP4-12c Spider. Information is scant but it seems the Spider will be based on the same super stiff carbon fibre MonoCell chassis as the hardtop MP4 12c. The Spider will also share the 616bhp 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8.
It will be interesting to see if McLaren, with their F1 experience, can keep the weight of the Spider down whilst retaining the stiffness in the chassis of the hardtop. More information to follow.
